Media Center Policies and Procedures
MIDDLE/HIGH STUDENTS
The NCS Media Center is where Cougars can come to read, conduct research, create multimedia projects, and participate in special programs and activities related to the library.
The media center is open for students from 7:30am until 4:00pm during school days. When visiting the media center, it is very important that students adhere to the following policies and procedures (whether they are visiting as a class or individually) to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment:
§ Students must follow all NCS rules and policies while in the media center.
§ No gum, drink, or food permitted in the media center.
§ Students who visit the media center individually must present their signed agenda or teacher note/pass and sign in at the circulation desk upon entry.
§ Students must sign out and get their agenda or note signed by media center staff before going back to class.
§ Students should sit no more than four students per table.
§ Students’ backpacks and other belongings should remain in the classroom if at all possible. If not, students should keep backpacks and other belongings out of walkways.
§ Students must work or read quietly when in the media center.
§ Student use of computers is for academic purposes only – no gaming, no personal email other than the school provided Google Mail account, and no social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat. No student should be on the Internet unsupervised.
§ Students should not unhook, unplug, or move equipment.
§ Students may check out up to two books at a time for two weeks at a time. Reference books may not be checked out.
§ Students should use the “Student” network. Password is neusecharter
§ Elementary students will be in library classes during the school day. Please be a good example for our younger students.
